RETURN & WITHDRAWAL POLICY

Last updated: 28 September 2026

At GSMcontact.com, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. This Return & Withdrawal Policy explains the conditions under which products purchased from our website may be returned.

The policy applies to both mobile phones and mobile phone spare parts/components, subject to the specific conditions described below.

1. Right of withdrawal – 14 days

For orders placed online by consumers, you generally have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days, without having to provide a reason.

For products, the 14-day period starts on the day you, or a third party designated by you other than the carrier, receives the product.

If an order contains several products delivered separately, the withdrawal period starts when the last product is received.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must notify GSMcontact.com within the applicable 14-day period.

The returned product must then be sent back within 14 days from the date on which you notified us of your decision to withdraw.

2. Mobile phones – return conditions

Mobile phones may be returned within the applicable 14-day withdrawal period provided that they are returned in a condition that allows us to establish their nature, characteristics and functionality.

The phone should be returned together with:

  • all original accessories;

  • original packaging, where possible;

  • manuals and documentation;

  • promotional items or other items supplied with the product;

  • any other components supplied with the original order.

The phone must not show damage resulting from improper use, physical damage, liquid damage, unauthorized repairs or modifications.

The customer may inspect and test the phone to the extent reasonably necessary to determine its nature, characteristics and functionality.

If the product has been used beyond what is necessary for such inspection and its value has consequently decreased, GSMcontact.com may apply the applicable rules regarding the customer’s responsibility for the diminished value of the product.

3. Mobile phone spare parts – IMPORTANT

Mobile phone spare parts are electronic components intended for installation and repair of mobile devices.

Examples include:

  • displays and touchscreen assemblies;

  • batteries;

  • charging ports;

  • flex cables;

  • cameras;

  • speakers and microphones;

  • buttons;

  • housings and frames;

  • motherboards and other electronic components;

  • other replacement parts sold on GSMcontact.com.

3.1 Testing before installation

Spare parts must be tested BEFORE permanent installation.

Where the product is supplied with security seals, labels, protective films, tamper-evident markings or other identification/securing elements, these must remain intact until the part has been inspected and, where technically possible, tested.

The customer should therefore not remove, cut, peel or otherwise alter any security seal before the part has been checked for compatibility and functionality.

Once a spare part has been installed, modified, soldered, glued, cut, bent, scratched or otherwise used as part of a repair, it may no longer be possible to establish whether a defect existed before installation or whether the component was damaged during installation.

4. Professional installation is required

GSMcontact.com spare parts are intended to be installed by qualified/professional mobile phone repair technicians.

Installation by the customer as a DIY repair is not recommended and may result in damage to the component or the mobile device.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the person performing the installation has the appropriate knowledge, tools and equipment.

GSMcontact.com is not responsible for damage caused by:

  • incorrect installation;

  • incorrect disassembly or assembly;

  • excessive force;

  • incorrect tools;

  • soldering or microsoldering errors;

  • incorrect adhesive application;

  • short circuits;

  • electrostatic discharge;

  • damaged connectors or flex cables;

  • incorrect handling of batteries;

  • installation in an incompatible device;

  • software/configuration issues;

  • installation performed by an unqualified person.

5. Testing of spare parts

Before installing a spare part, the repair technician should verify:

  1. that the part corresponds to the ordered model;

  2. that the part is physically undamaged;

  3. that all connectors and cables are intact;

  4. that the protective/security seals are intact;

  5. that the part is compatible with the intended device.

Where technically possible, the component should be tested before permanent installation.

Do not remove protective or security seals, protective films or tamper-evident markings until the part has been checked.

For displays, batteries and other components where testing requires temporary connection to the device, the component should be connected and tested without removing unnecessary protective elements and without permanently installing it.

6. Returns of installed or modified spare parts

A spare part that has been:

  • permanently installed;

  • glued;

  • soldered;

  • modified;

  • cut;

  • bent;

  • scratched;

  • disassembled;

  • connected in a manner that leaves installation marks;

  • otherwise altered or used beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functionality;

may be subject to refusal of the withdrawal request or to a reduction corresponding to any diminished value, to the extent permitted by applicable consumer-protection legislation.

In particular, GSMcontact.com cannot treat a component that has already been permanently installed in a customer’s phone as an unused, resalable spare part.

For this reason, compatibility and functionality must be checked before permanent installation.

7. Security seals and identification markings

Some spare parts may have security seals, serial-number labels, QC labels, inspection markings, protective films or other identification elements.

These markings are used to:

  • identify the component;

  • verify that the component is the one supplied by GSMcontact.com;

  • determine whether the component has been installed or handled;

  • protect against accidental or unauthorized modification;

  • assist with warranty and quality-control procedures.

Customers should not remove or damage these markings before testing the component.

Where removal or damage to such markings results from installation or use, GSMcontact.com may take this into account when assessing the condition of the returned product and any applicable diminution in value, subject to mandatory consumer rights.

8. Incorrect or incompatible part

If you receive a part that is different from the part ordered, please contact us before installing it.

Do not install a part simply to determine whether it works with your phone.

If you are unsure about compatibility, contact GSMcontact.com before installation and provide the exact phone model, model number and, where applicable, the part number.

A component that has been installed in an incompatible device may be damaged during installation and such damage may not be attributable to a manufacturing defect.

9. Defective products

The statutory rights relating to defective or non-conforming products are separate from the 14-day right of withdrawal.

If you believe that a product is defective, please contact us as soon as possible and provide:

  • order number;

  • product name;

  • description of the problem;

  • photographs or video where relevant;

  • information regarding whether the product has been installed.

For spare parts, we may request information regarding the installation and testing procedure and, where appropriate, evidence that the installation was performed by a professional repair technician.

A product that was damaged during installation is not considered defective merely because it no longer functions after installation.

10. How to request a return

To request a return, contact GSMcontact.com before sending the product back.

Please include:

  • order number;

  • name of the customer;

  • product(s) being returned;

  • reason for return, where applicable;

  • preferred refund method where required.

We will provide the return instructions.

Please do not send products to us without first contacting customer service, as an unauthorized return may delay processing.

11. Packaging of returned products

Products must be packaged appropriately to prevent damage during transportation.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the returned product is adequately protected during shipping.

For spare parts, particular attention must be paid to:

  • flex cables;

  • connectors;

  • display panels;

  • glass surfaces;

  • batteries;

  • sensitive electronic components.

Damage occurring during return transportation due to inadequate packaging may affect the assessment of the return.

12. Return shipping costs

Unless otherwise required by applicable law or agreed by GSMcontact.com, the direct cost of returning a product following exercise of the right of withdrawal is borne by the customer.

If the product received is incorrect or the return concerns a confirmed defect covered by the applicable legal warranty provisions, different arrangements may apply.

13. Refunds

After a valid withdrawal, GSMcontact.com will refund the amounts received from the customer in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.

The refund may be withheld until the returned product has been received or until the customer provides evidence that the product has been shipped back, whichever occurs first, where permitted by law.

The refund will generally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless another method has been agreed with the customer.

14. Important information for spare-part customers

PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING OR INSTALLING A SPARE PART

GSMcontact.com spare parts are intended for professional repair use.

Before installation:

1. Check the exact device model.
2. Check compatibility.
3. Inspect the component for physical damage.
4. Keep all security seals and identification markings intact.
5. Test the component before permanent installation whenever technically possible.
6. Do not glue, solder, cut, bend or otherwise modify the component before testing.
7. Have the component installed by a qualified repair technician.

Installing a spare part before verifying its compatibility and functionality may make it impossible to determine whether a problem was present when the product was delivered or was caused during installation.

15. Consumer protection

Nothing in this Return & Withdrawal Policy is intended to restrict or exclude any mandatory rights granted to consumers by applicable Romanian or European Union legislation.

Where a mandatory legal provision provides a consumer with a right that differs from the conditions described in this policy, the mandatory legal provision shall prevail.

The 14-day withdrawal period described above applies to the statutory right of withdrawal for eligible distance contracts and does not replace or limit the consumer’s separate statutory rights concerning defective or non-conforming products.
